Applications for the 2024-25 school year lottery are now OPEN. The lottery will be held on March 18, 2024. At that time we will admit the fall 2024 PK class and will draw for waitlist positions for all other grades.

In 2023, the Connecticut Legislature changed how old a child must be to start kindergarten. Public Act 23-208, Section 1(a) changed the birth date cutoff date from January 1 of any given school year to September 1 of any given school year.

Students born 9/2/2019 - 9/1/2020 are eligible for Pre-K.
Students born 9/2/2018-9/1/2019 are eligible for kindergarten.

Brass City Charter School provides a rigorous, demanding program. Student success is dependent on parent involvement.

Brass City Charter School accepts students from throughout the city of Waterbury. Bus transportation to all areas of the city is available. Students living outside Waterbury are not eligible to attend Brass City Charter School.

BCCS opened in September 2013 with 114 children in grades pre-K, K, and 1. In September 2021, we welcomed our first 8th graders, our first graduating class, and added a new class of 34 pre-K students.

Children are admitted to BCCS by lottery. If you are currently on the WAITLIST, you must reapply for the upcoming school year.

Brass City Charter School does not discriminate in any employment practice, education program, or educational activity on the basis of race, color, religious creed, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, or any other basis prohibited by Connecticut state and/or federal nondiscrimination laws.

Families applying for admission to BCCS must be legal residents of the City of Waterbury.

There is no tuition at BCCS; students admitted to the school attend free of charge. Meals and snacks are included.

Please complete the form below to be enrolled in the lottery.

Please apply only once for each child. Multiple applications for the same child do not increase the chances of getting a better waitlist number or being chosen for PK admission. One student = one lottery entry.
